John Hall co-founded VA Linux Systems (now VA Software, NASDAQ: LNUX) and helped lead the company to a record-breaking IPO in the late 1990's, at the start of the Linux and open source revolution. At VA, John served as Sr. Vice President of marketing, overseeing worldwide marketing strategy, in addition to a number of other leadership roles including managing professional services, support and corporate strategy. In 1999, John spearheaded the creation of SourceForge.net, the world's largest collaborative development web site, currently hosting over 175,000 application development projects and supporting over 1.8 million registered users. Additionally, John created and served as General Manager of the VA subsidiary now known as the Open Source Technology Group (OSTG). OSTG is the leading network of technology sites for IT managers, developers and professionals. It presently serves more than 270 million page views and over 18 million unique visitors monthly.
Bob Schick was an early employee at data warehousing pioneer Teradata where he oversaw that organization's financial services industry consulting group. In that role, he developed the global go-to-market strategy, establishing a presence in over 30 countries and bringing on multiple flagship clients. Subsequently, Bob joined Unisys to manage the sales and marketing activities of its data warehousing division and later serving as the managing principal of its global decision support practice. At Unisys, Bob led efforts to establish a corporate presence across 40 countries of operation. Bob has held executive roles at several other technology companies, including Mobinetix (acquired by Symbol Technologies), and has consulted extensively with top Silicon Valley companies. He is an expert in data warehousing and decision support and has presented at conferences and events in over 50 countries.
